Like all Latin American countries, Costa Rica is predominantly Catholic, but other denominations are found throughout the country.

Most of the churches are built the traditional way: their main doors facing West. This can be helpful to follow directions.

Many churches in Costa Rica are tourist attractions: Category:Cartago's old church and Ujarras ruins are two examples of old churches that are in ruins now.
