Visitor Services

Information is available at the entrance of the park. The beaches Espadilla Sur and Manuel Antonio have camping areas, tables, showers, drinkable water, trash cans, and restrooms. There is an exhibition room next to the administration office, and trails leading to lookout points.

Wildlife

A total of 109 mammal species inhabit the park. The most common are: foxes, white-faced monkeys, squirrel monkey, armadillos, raccoons and sloths. It is relatively easy to spot monkeys, and it is illegal to feed them, since it disturbs their natural behaviour. There are 184 species of birds.

Tips

Since the park has a cap of 600 visitors on weekdays and 800 visitors on weekends and holidays, it's best to arrive early. So plan your trip, since trails and beaches will get crowded. Also, monkeys have a bad habit to stealing the tourists food, even from their backpacks while hiking, so never feed any animals, and guard your belongings from them. The park is closed on Mondays.
