Día del boyero nacional

This event is celebrated on the second Sunday of March. Located in San Antonio of Escazú. It is a very colorful parade of ox carts.

The children are dressed in traditional costume for a parade on the colorful oxcarts from the center of Escazú to the Church of San Antonio. Carts are a national symbol in Costa Rica and most of them are handpainted for this festival. Locals and visitors enjoy typical music and food throughout the day.

Tip: Get there early, take a taxi or bus to San Antonio. Bring water and tripod. It gets very crowded and try to stay on the main road. The parade will pass in front of the church, this is the best place to be.
