Seasons in Costa Rica

There are 2 seasons in Costa Rica:
- Dry season: from October-November to April-May. Also referred to as "verano" or summer. Sunny but a little windy, depending on location.
- Rainy season: from May to October. Also referred to as "invierno" or winter. Usually with heavy rains and thunderstorm after noon and night, depending on location.
It is best to travel to Costa Rica on the dry season, this season does not apply the Caribbean and South regions where rain can fall at any time.
During the rainy season, hotel prices drop down.
